Trade Sector Strike Does Not Affect Package Traffic – Shipit’s Shipping Partners Operating Normally

This week, there are two strikes in the Finnish retail sector: a logistics strike from Monday morning to Thursday morning and a store workers’ strike from Wednesday morning to Saturday morning. These may affect store opening hours and staffing levels, particularly in grocery stores and their central warehouses. However, stores will remain open despite the strike.

Shipit’s shipping partners are operating as usual, and packages will be delivered according to the estimated schedules. Parcel lockers will also function normally. If you plan to pick up or send parcels from a service point located in a grocery store, please check the store’s opening hours in advance for any possible changes.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update this notice if anything changes.

PostNord

If a pickup point located in a store cannot accept packages, PostNord will primarily try to redirect the shipment to an alternative pickup point. If this is not possible, the parcels will be returned to the terminal and delivered to pickup points once the strike ends. Opening hours and service limitations may vary by region and by store, so please follow the situation for each individual location.

Matkahuolto

Most stores acting as Matkahuolto pickup points will remain open despite the strike. If a store is closed, Matkahuolto will redirect packages in transit directly to alternative pickup points. Thanks to Matkahuolto’s extensive network of over 2,500 pickup points and parcel lockers, a suitable alternative location should be close by. In general, the strike does not affect Matkahuolto’s delivery times, but there may be minor (about one-day) delays in situations where routes must be changed quickly or if a store closure was not reported in advance, causing parcels to be returned to the terminal before being rerouted.
