The company's headquarters is located in Sandy Springs, Georgia, United States. UPS was originally founded in Seattle in 1907 as the American Messenger Company.

For shipments outside the EU, export declaration is mandatory and included in the shipping price for UPS services.

Pricing Based on Volumetric/Chargeable Weight

Charges are always based on the weight and volume reported by the carrier

A surcharge is added to the shipping cost if additional handling is required. This applies, for example, in the following cases:

  • Items packed in metal or wooden packaging

  • Cylindrical items, such as tyres, barrels, cans or buckets, that are not fully packed in a box

  • If the box has handles, wheels, or other protruding parts

  • Packages whose longest side exceeds 100cm, or whose second-longest side exceeds 76cm

  • Packages whose actual weight exceeds 25 kg

An oversized package surcharge is added automatically if the package dimensions meet the following criteria:

  • A package is considered oversized if its combined length and girth (girth = Length + 2 x Width + 2 x Height) exceeds 300 cm but does not exceed 400 cm.

  • The billable weight of an oversized package is at least 40 kg.

Delivery to remote or outlying areas may include an additional surcharge.

Sending Packages Abroad

UPS Comprehensive Services

UPS offers businesses a paid pickup service for Express, Standard, and Expedited shipments. The pickup can be easily arranged in the Shipit platform under Pickup Booking (using the tracking number: Simple), or by contacting our customer support via email or chat on weekdays from 9 AM to 4 PM.

Alternatively, shipments can also be dropped off directly at the nearest UPS Access Point.

Please note that if the recipient is a private individual and cannot be reached, UPS may deliver the shipment for pickup at the nearest Access Point.

UPS Services for Shipit Customers

Service from UPS Access Point to UPS Access Point with Express and Standard services.

  • Pickup point to pickup point delivery

  • Delivery to most European destinations next business day with Express service and according to schedule estimate with Standard service.

  • Only for EU internal deliveries


There may be longer distances in remote areas at the receiving end, so please confirm with the recipient that the nearest point is within a suitable distance.

Access Point search shows the nearest pickup and drop-off points as well as UPS Access Points' opening hours and last drop-off times for same-day dispatch.

UPS Access Point shipment maximum length is 97 cm and weight 20 kg.

Note: You can find UPS Access Points in provinces through UPS's Drop-in search. When sending through Shipit, you need to search for Access Points with exact postal codes in provinces, while in the Helsinki metropolitan area, Turku and Tampere axis, points appear normally with all postal codes.

  • Maximum weight for single package 70kg

  • Maximum length for single package is 200cm

  • Door-to-door service

Logo Package

The logo package includes logos of different carriers and Shipit.fi in PNG and SVG formats. You can download the logo package by logging into our program with your user credentials. If you don't have user credentials yet, you can register as a business customer. After registration, you can log in to the program and download the logo package. You'll find the logo package in the program menu: My Settings → Materials.
