If you suspect a substance is dangerous, contact us in advance

Consumers are not allowed to send substances or items classified as dangerous goods. If you suspect your shipment contains dangerous goods, contact the transport company or www.cargosafe.fi to clarify the matter.

What are dangerous goods?

Dangerous goods are items and substances that can pose a significant risk to health, safety, property, and the environment.

Dangerous goods can be found in tools, mobile phones, car parts and other spare parts, medical devices and substances, chemicals, flashlights and other lamps, photography equipment, refrigerators, household items, cylinders, electrical devices, laboratory samples, etc.

Examples of dangerous goods:

Dry ice, lithium batteries, hand sanitizers, all items containing flammable liquids or toxic substances such as mercury, pressurized containers, magnets, various batteries, different packaging materials, matches and other ignition devices, any item that has contained fuel or other flammable liquids, explosives, ammunition, and weapons.

General Staff Qualification

DGR Act Section 11 (22.12.2011/1402)

Every person involved in tasks related to the transport or storage of dangerous goods must have the necessary training or other qualification to ensure transport safety. Such tasks include packing, sending, shipping, loading, cargo handling, transport, and unloading.

Additionally, they must undergo regular refresher training unless the task is performed under the direct supervision of a trained person.
