EORI number is mandatory if import or export clearance is done for the shipment in Europe. For example, UPS shipments outside the EU always require an EORI number.
You need an EORI number if you make the following declarations:
export and import clearance
entry and exit summary declarations and presentation notifications, and exit notification
summary declaration for temporary storage
entry presentation notification
unloading report for temporarily stored goods upon arrival
transit declaration
arrival notification at exit
application for binding tariff information
Transport companies must also be EORI registered when making the above declarations.
Note that if your company is registered as an exporter with Customs, an EORI number has already been created for your company.
In Finland, you can apply for an EORI number directly from Customs. Registering for an EORI number takes only a moment. In Finland, the EORI number consists of the country code FI and the business ID. Fill out this form and you can quickly get an EORI number for your company.
