Important considerations when sending a package to Germany.
German postal code consists of 5 digits. Remember to select whether the recipient is a business or private individual, as this affects the available delivery methods.
Germany is an EU country and normally does not require customs documentation for exports. Germany has two postal code areas located outside the EU, these are 78266 Büsingen and 27498 Helgoland. For shipments to Büsingen or Helgoland, you need to create a Commercial or Proforma Invoice. For Posti, the equivalent is CN23 for parcel shipments.
Supported delivery methods when sending a package to Germany: Posti Parcel Connect, Posti Priority, Posti EMS, Posti Businessday Parcel, GLS EuroBusinessParcel, UPS Express Saver, UPS Express, UPS Standard, FedEx International Priority and FedEx International Economy.
If your sales to Germany exceed €100,000 per year, you must register for VAT in Germany. Read more and check the current sales thresholds on the EU website.
