The Bill of Lading includes the following information:

  • Type of goods including additional markings for dangerous goods transport

  • Total weight of goods

  • Number of packages

Electronic Bill of Lading: The Bill of Lading information is sent as EDI to transport companies, based on which the shipment is delivered to the recipient. The possibility to send with electronic Bill of Lading comes into effect on April 11, 2019.

The identifying information for the Bill of Lading and address labels is the waybill number (often SSCC number or carrier-defined unique identifier), which is also used as a tracking number in carrier systems.

Please note that manual markings made on the Bill of Lading can easily be overlooked, and the shipment will be transported based on electronically transmitted information.

If you want to make changes to the shipment information, this is a chargeable function with many carriers, read more about price determination.

A reservation made on the Bill of Lading means that the shipment has undergone a change, either during transport or when being accepted for transport. Read more about receiving goods and marking reservations on the Bill of Lading during signing.
