Wolt deliveries now available in domestic online stores

Fast deliveries by Wolt courier partners are now available for domestic online stores. This feature, enabled by logistics service Shipit, offers MyCashflow online store customers quick deliveries straight to their door.

Wolt, known for fast home deliveries, is expanding to become a delivery method for domestic online stores, as MyCashflow merchants in the capital region now have the opportunity to utilize Wolt deliveries for goods, clothes, and other products in e-commerce. The service will initially launch in central Helsinki and Eastern Helsinki areas.

Through the collaboration of Shipit, Wolt, and MyCashflow, deliveries by Wolt courier partners are available to domestic online stores for the first time. Same-day deliveries can be enabled in MyCashflow online stores through the Shipit logistics service.

For online store customers, the new service offers the opportunity to order products from domestic MyCashflow online stores and receive their orders at home in less than an hour after placing the order.

Demand for fast deliveries is growing rapidly

In recent years, there has been a major change in online store logistics needs, as customers have become accustomed to receiving their deliveries faster through Wolt and similar services – at best, even within tens of minutes after ordering.

To enable fast delivery times, online stores need short, so-called last mile deliveries, which allow orders to be delivered quickly directly to the customer's door or other desired location.

The implementation of Wolt deliveries supports the current trend in e-commerce, as the popularity of domestic online stores is growing rapidly within Finland. According to a study published by the International Post Corporation (IPC) in fall 2021, up to 68% of Finns plan to buy more specifically from domestic online stores in the future.

One of the most important factors for the popularity of domestic online stores in Finland is specifically explained by delivery speed. According to IPC's study, up to 38% of respondents said that delivery speed was the reason for choosing a domestic online store.

Wolt, MyCashflow and Shipit in close collaboration to enable the service

Pulse247 Oy, operating behind the MyCashflow e-commerce service, wants to meet consumers' needs to receive their orders as quickly as possible.

– We maintain over 2,000 online stores in Finland and have received feedback from our customers regarding last mile deliveries. Urbanization and shopping behavior also affect e-commerce, and more and more people want their ordered products quickly and flexibly, says Pekka Juntunen, Business Director of Pulse247 Oy.

– If merchants cannot offer faster deliveries, this negatively affects the online store's conversion. Together with our partners Wolt and Shipit, we have now responded to this demand and brought fast Wolt deliveries to our e-commerce customers, Juntunen continues.

Over the past year, Wolt has expanded its operations increasingly beyond restaurants, allowing consumers to order products from familiar grocery and retail stores and receive them at home through Wolt deliveries. The collaboration with MyCashflow and Shipit extends Wolt's delivery services more broadly for domestic online stores to utilize.

– We have noticed that fast deliveries from both restaurants and food and other retail stores play a very central role in making our customers' daily lives easier. We are extremely happy that together with MyCashflow and Shipit, we can enable fast home deliveries for thousands of domestic online merchants, states Henrik Pankakoski, Wolt's Country Manager for Finland.

Shipit.fi is a Finnish logistics company specializing in domestic and international deliveries, through which packages can be sent directly to the recipient's door or to carrier parcel lockers and pickup points. The collaboration with Wolt supports Shipit's strategy to expand the company's service range to include local express delivery and courier services, so that online merchants can better meet consumer needs for fast deliveries.

– Adding Wolt to our transport services brings interesting expansion opportunities for both us and our customers. Last-mile services have otherwise been on the rise lately, and due to COVID, demand has grown explosively. Customer buying behavior is balancing out, and many want their orders to arrive at their doorstep as soon as possible, says Sami Hakanen, COO of Shipit.
