Posti has issued a statement on Tuesday, February 14th regarding the effects of AKT's potential strike on Posti shipments.
AKT, the Auto and Transport Workers' Union, has announced an automotive and transport sector strike from February 15th to 21st, 2023, unless an agreement is reached by Tuesday, February 14th. The Postal and Logistics Union PAU has also announced its support for the AKT strike through support measures.
The support measures affect the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers during February 16th-21st, 2023, and aim to accelerate AKT's collective agreement negotiations in the trucking industry
The potential upcoming strikes will affect Posti's transport and terminal operations as well as domestic and international shipments.
According to Posti's current estimate, the delay in package deliveries is approximately five (5) days for shipments sent during the industrial action. It is recommended to schedule package shipments outside the strike period
Delays for letters, magazines, incoming and outgoing international shipments, and freight transport range from several days to over a week
Posti will take care of and properly store packages that cannot be sent during the potential strike
Shipments related to safety and health, including healthcare-related deliveries and meal deliveries, are excluded from the strike
