UPS announces list price and service fee increases for 2024. Some changes will take effect as early as December 23, 2023. The changes will be automatically updated in the Shipit program.
1. Price increase of 5.5%
UPS will update its list prices starting December 23, 2023. The price increase is 5.5%. This change is necessary for UPS to continue providing high-quality service and meet customer expectations.
2. Additional handling fee
From January 7, 2024, an additional handling fee will apply to all UPS import packages with an actual weight over 25 kg. This applies to both domestic and international packages.
3. New import preparation fee
From January 1, 2024, a new import preparation fee will apply to all shipments to Switzerland and Norway that require formal customs registration. UPS will not pay duties, taxes, or other import costs; these will continue to be paid by the recipient as usual. The new costs are as follows:
New import preparation fee to Switzerland = 6.7 CHF
New import preparation fee to Norway = 78 NOK
