Increase in general VAT rate
The general VAT rate will increase from 24 percent to 25.5 percent starting September 1, 2024. Parliament has approved the change, but the law has not yet been ratified. According to the government proposal, the new VAT rate will apply to goods and services that currently have a tax rate of 24 percent.
Shipit Oy Ab's charges are subject to VAT, and the change will be applied to these.
According to tax authority guidelines, the new tax rate is determined by the delivery date. For example, if shipments are created on August 31 but delivered on September 1, they will be subject to the new 25.5 percent tax rate. The tax rate will be automatically updated for Shipit's payment methods.
