Matkahuolto's Home Parcel service is being renewed starting September 1, 2026. Deliveries will be faster, the recipient no longer needs to be home when the parcel arrives, and consumers will get more freedom to choose the delivery time and method.
What's changing?
Home Parcel deliveries will be made on weekdays between 8 AM and 6 PM across all of Finland, up to a day faster than before. The parcel will be left in a safe spot, typically behind the door, so the recipient doesn't need to be present. If the drop-off isn't possible, the parcel will be taken to a pickup point. As an additional service, Contact Delivery is also available, where the parcel is handed directly to the recipient in person.
Customers stay informed throughout the process
Matkahuolto sends delivery updates at several stages: first by email and in the app once the shipment has been registered.
Once the shipment arrives at Matkahuolto, the customer is notified by email and through the Matkahuolto Parcels app, as well as by text message or WhatsApp. At that point, they can choose the delivery date, notification method (doorbell, knock, or silent delivery), and purchase Contact Delivery. If no choice is made, the parcel will be delivered on the next available weekday.
On the day of delivery, the customer receives a narrowed 1–4 hour delivery window by email and in the app, and can track the delivery in real time.
After delivery, the customer receives a confirmation: a photo of the drop-off location is only available in the Parcels app.

Maximum parcel weight: 25 kg, or 30 kg with the Heavy Item add-on service
Dimensions: 100 x 60 x 60 cm, maximum volume 0.36 m³
With the Manual Handling add-on service: maximum length 200 cm and length + girth 380 cm, maximum volume 0.4 m³
